How we can support you to do more good
Support for impact organisations
One-on-one guidance, practical tools, confidence to grow without compromising on your mission.
Most organisations access our services by joining a program or through funding from partners – such as intermediaries, peak bodies or philanthropy – who engage us to support the organisations they back.
Support for funders and partners
We work with intermediaries, peak bodies, government and philanthropy to design and deliver programs that strengthen the organisations you back.
This could mean building their impact strategy, strengthening the business and financial model or supporting grantees become investees when the time is right.

FAQs
No, you do not need to be Social Traders certified or People and Planet First verified for us to be able to work with you. We work with impact-led organisations regardless of their legal structure. They can be for profit and not for profit.
If you’re just starting out and don’t yet have a trading history, Sefa may not be the right fit straight away – unless we have any current programs that are designed for early-stage enterprises. At this point, incubator or accelerator programs could be a better option for you to help you shape your idea, test your model and strengthen your value proposition.
When you’ve built some trading history and have more clarity on your mission and impact, that’s when Sefa can step in – to help you refine your business, build confidence and get ready to achieve sustainable and demonstratable impact.
Yes. Support from Sefa isn’t just about the loans we provide. Most impact-led organisations will need some form of external finance along the way, and we can help you get ready to secure and use it. Our role is to make sure you feel confident, prepared and able to use that finance well to do more good.
We do not write grant proposals for our clients. However, we are often engaged to support the development of compelling pitch decks which clearly articulate a justifiable ask and the relationship between that ask and the impact that is created. These pitch decks can be used to engage with philanthropic funders, impact investors, government funding agencies and in community.
One-on-one engagements with Sefa are tailored your needs. We work closely with your leadership team to understand where we can add the most value – and to make sure the capability we build stays with your organisation long after our work is done.
We agree a clear scope and timeline, then deliver support in the way that works best – on site, virtually or through workshops. A typical engagement spans 3–5 months and may cover areas like impact strategy, operating and financing models, and governance, including Board support.
Yes! We are intermediaries which means that we work with organisations on both the supply and demand side of the market. Because of this, we understand the needs and expectations of both, and can play a connecting role. We are members of the relevant social enterprise peak bodies, we regularly contribute at key industry meetings and conferences, we work closely with government and philanthropy to influence system-level change and we are commissioned to undertake research and contribute to the development of thought leadership in the sector.
